Adelaide claims worlds first Solar Bus

Brainchild of Lord Mayor Michael Harbison, Tindo was built by New Zealand firm Designline International.
The bus has a range of approximately 200 Kilometres carrying up to 40 passengers in comfort using a set of custom sodium nickel batteries charged by a 70,000 Kilowatt Hour carbon neutral solar array.
The $500 000 project is the first stage of a Council plan for a complete electric bus fleet by 2016.
